Overview

The role of Ready Mix Driver is responsible for the primary day-to-day delivery of Ready Mix Concrete to Job Sites (Home Owner and other Clients in the industries). This role is also responsible for customer relationships, giving great service with a friendly attitude to ensure customers receive a high-level delivery and product from Lafarge. This is a customer-facing role that requires a service-oriented mindset and a highly professional approach.

Responsibilities

  1. Adhere to all Lafarge safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  2. Maintain equipment by doing daily pre and post-trip inspections, having a good sense of accountability to keep equipment clean inside and out.
  3. Build and maintain relationships of trust with customers in assigned geography.
  4. Own the satisfaction of these customers at all times.
  5. Responsible for consistent and reliable customer service through delivery.
  6. Maintain a delivery service that is a positive, hassle-free experience for Lafarge’s customers.
  7. Able to navigate around the City of Grande Prairie and surrounding areas, to maintain on-time deliveries.
  8. Maintain strong working relationships with logistics and operations teams as well as fellow operators.
  9. Have a flexible schedule. This position may require an individual to work different shifts as well as be available on weekends.
  10. Understand traffic rules and regulations in a commercial vehicle and be courteous on the road.
  11. Able to perform operations on electronic devices (tablets, GPS, etc.).
  12. Open-minded and a quick learner.
  13. Lafarge Ready Mix Training Program provided.
  14. Able to lift >50lbs.

Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
  1. Grade 12 or equivalent.
  2. Ready Mix Driver experience or in a related field preferred.
  3. Understanding of building materials industry, including product knowledge, an asset.
  4. Needs to have a Class 3Q (Air Brakes) or Class 1Q – Driver's abstract REQUIRED when applying.
