REDLAB is a world-class post-production facilityproviding full post-production services for commercials, TV andfeatures. We are a team of passionate individuals with a love of allthings film, TV and commercials.

TheDirector of Business Affairs will oversee andfacilitate all financial and legal affairs of the business. The idealcandidate will play a crucial role in managing the company's financialprocesses and will work closely with the senior management and salesteam to ensure proper communication and workflows for best companymeasures.

Open to both part time and full timecandidates. The successful candidate will be required to work on siteat our downtown Toronto office.

Responsibilities:

  • Continual assessment of the financial landscapeof REDLAB Inc.
  • Create the annual budget includingcompensation review, headcount planning, CapEx and operating expensesin collaboration with other heads of departments
  • Working withsales department in preparing forecasts to contribute towards revenueprojections assessing feasibility based on current and projectedcapacity
  • Maintain and manage relationship with bankers,landlord and other external stakeholders
  • Prepare for andattend weekly sales meetings 
  • Determine project tax crediteligibility and perform detailed analysis 
  • Review and analyzeproject lab pledge and access agreements
  • Draft and reviewservice agreements and terms for new projects
  • Assess projectfinancing requirements and advise on optimal deal structures
  • Analyze performance reviews and provide informed compensationrecommendations to management
  • Perform detailed accountanalysis for insurance renewals, preparing updated applications andnegotiating terms as needed
  • Prepare agenda, minutes andsupplementary minutes for board meetings
  • Manage subleaseagreements, draft agreements for new sublesses and liaise withrealtors as necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting,Business Administration or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning,analysis and management of business affairs
  • Ability to managemultiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with theability to interact effectively with senior management and externalpartners
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills withstrong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in financial softwareand advanced Excel skills
  • Previous experience in a media,film or post production environment preferred
  • Ability to workon site in our downtown office location
