The British Columbia Blueberry Council is the provincial organization responsible for the strategic development of the blueberry industry in British Columbia through promotion, industry education, and research.

We are in search of an Executive Director to provide visionary leadership in managing the operations of the British Columbia Blueberry Council. The primary responsibilities include implementing the strategic plan, collaborating with the Board of Directors on policy development, and overseeing all administrative and budgetary aspects of the organization.

The Successful Candidate Must Demonstrate Advanced Knowledge and Experience In:

  •  Leadership
  • Operational planning and management
  • Program planning and management
  • Human resources planning and management
  • Financial planning and management
  • Public & government relations and membership engagement
  • Risk management

Required Qualifications

o  Master of Business Administration or a degree in a relevant field

o   Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Director or other leadership position that specifically includes:

  • Writing grant and other funding applications with success
  • Overseeing staff and supporting professional development
  • Developing, and evaluating strategies and implementing annual plans
  • Stakeholder engagement and government relations

o  In-depth knowledge of board governance

o  Exceptional written and oral communication skills

*Experience in the agriculture sector is an asset.

Compensation

Salary starts at $125,000 per annum and benefits.
