Midland Transport is currently seeking a Director of Pricing at our head office location in Dieppe, NB. The selected candidate will be an experienced professional with strong work ethic and a “Can Do” attitude.

Midland Transport has continued to expand its business offerings through growth and investment within its business lines. We require a candidate with the skills and ability to lead a team and ensure continued success in our business growth initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant discipline
  • Years of Experience Required: Minimum 15 years of experience with at least 5 years leading or influencing teams, ideally in a transportation environment
  • Accounting Designation CPA and/or experience in Finance considered an asset
  • Effective communicator with a demonstrated ability to work with and lead teams within and outside of direct control
  • Effective communicator of complex details to senior level management and company ownership
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative and strong team player
  • Experience in building and maintaining pricing models, strategies and execution plans
  • Excellent understanding of price and mix variance analysis and margin analytics
  • Excellent capabilities of leveraging reporting tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Cognos, Alteryx or similar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to provide customer proposals, contract management, rating and adjustments, billing and invoicing
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with overall business strategy and yearly plans and provide guidance and recommendations for profitable growth across all divisions and service offerings
  • Drive continuous improvement around pricing processes and demand planning within the company, working closely with other departments and teams to achieve results
  • Manage and refine customer, shipment, and lane price and mix analysis as well as the underlying tools, assumptions and models
  • Ensure pricing proposals, contracts, and tender responses are accurate, timely, and professional
  • Ensure rate accuracy and adherence to contracts
  • Ensure pricing models are maintained and updated such that pricing is based on the most recent data available
  • Work closely with senior management to provide insight on large opportunities, projects, and analytics work
