Midland Transport is currently seeking a Director of Pricing at our head office location in Dieppe, NB. Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant discipline

Years of Experience Required: Minimum 15 years of experience with at least 5 years leading or influencing teams, ideally in a transportation environment Accounting Designation CPA and/or experience in Finance considered an asset Effective communicator with a demonstrated ability to work with and lead teams within and outside of direct control Effective communicator of complex details to senior level management and company ownership Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment Collaborative and strong team player Experience in building and maintaining pricing models, strategies and execution plans Excellent understanding of price and mix variance analysis and margin analytics Excellent capabilities of leveraging reporting tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Cognos, Alteryx or similar.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to provide customer proposals, contract management, rating and adjustments, billing and invoicing
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with overall business strategy and yearly plans and provide guidance and recommendations for profitable growth across all divisions and service offerings
  • Drive continuous improvement around pricing processes and demand planning within the company, working closely with other departments and teams to achieve results
  • Manage and refine customer, shipment, and lane price and mix analysis as well as the underlying tools, assumptions and models
  • Ensure pricing proposals, contracts, and tender responses are accurate, timely, and professional
  • Ensure rate accuracy and adherence to contracts
  • Ensure pricing models are maintained and updated such that pricing is based on the most recent data available
  • Work closely with senior management to provide insight on large opportunities, projects, and analytics work
