Midland Transport is currently seeking a Director of Pricing at our head office location in Dieppe, NB. Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant disciplineYears of Experience Required: Minimum 15 years of experience with at least 5 years leading or influencing teams, ideally in a transportation environmentAccounting Designation CPA and/or experience in Finance considered an assetEffective communicator with a demonstrated ability to work with and lead teams within and outside of direct controlEffective communicator of complex details to senior level management and company ownershipAbility to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environmentCollaborative and strong team playerExperience in building and maintaining pricing models, strategies and execution plansExcellent understanding of price and mix variance analysis and margin analyticsExcellent capabilities of leveraging reporting tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Cognos, Alteryx or similar.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to provide customer proposals, contract management, rating and adjustments, billing and invoicing
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with overall business strategy and yearly plans and provide guidance and recommendations for profitable growth across all divisions and service offerings
  • Drive continuous improvement around pricing processes and demand planning within the company, working closely with other departments and teams to achieve results
  • Manage and refine customer, shipment, and lane price and mix analysis as well as the underlying tools, assumptions and models
  • Ensure pricing proposals, contracts, and tender responses are accurate, timely, and professional
  • Ensure rate accuracy and adherence to contracts
  • Ensure pricing models are maintained and updated such that pricing is based on the most recent data available
  • Work closely with senior management to provide insight on large opportunities, projects, and analytics work
