Systems enterprise public health client is seeking a Hybrid On-site Intermediate Healthcare Device and Technical Readiness Hospital(s) Site Lead to collect and manage electrical, networking, and Wi-Fi requirements with third-party vendors for Electronic Health Record implementation. Must be local in Vancouver with access to a vehicle to visit hospitals. All transportation costs (gas, mileage, parking) to be borne by the consultant, no reimbursements. 6 month contract + extensions.
MUST HAVE SKILLS:- LOCAL in Vancouver and access to a vehicle for regular onsite visits to Fraser Health hospitals
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare-related discipline
- 2+ years recent experience in Healthcare with a focus on IT systems and operational support
- Strong knowledge of general workflows in a hospital environment is an asset
- Demonstrated internal/external stakeholder provider and clinician engagement experience
- Access to Microsoft Visio and experience in developing floor plans
- Experience in collecting, managing, and implementing electrical requirements with third-party vendors
- Experience in collecting, managing, and implementing network, including Wi-Fi requirements with third-party vendors
- Experience in Windows image management, including mass application deployment
- Experience in developing device and peripheral strategies and deployment plans
- Experience in leading and/or managing device deployment projects
- Experience developing device acquisition/procurement approaches including appropriate evaluation methodologies
- Experience coordinating trades for cabling and installation work
- Go-live conversion and cut-over experience
- Experience with computing devices
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical and network requirements in the clinical setting (e.g. desktops, laptops, workstations on wheels)
- Knowledge and understanding of mobility environments and devices used within them (e.g. smartphones, cell phones, pagers, etc.)
- Knowledge and understanding of output management environments and devices used within them (e.g. multi-function printers, label printers, fax machines), particularly in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge and understanding of the infrastructure required to support devices such as electrical outlets, network ports, and Wi-Fi
- Experience with 3rd-party device and service procurement models
- Understanding of reporting and metrics in a healthcare setting
- Competent to work all phases of application systems analysis
The Site Lead will be expected to apply their experiences as a front-line staff member and liaise with colleagues across the region to ensure the seamless identification, procurement, and deployment of devices and applicable site changes required to support the implementation of a new CIS and the enhanced workflows that will be used by clinical staff. The “Advance Program” is looking for a Site Lead with key deliverables and activities outlined below:
Devices and Technical Readiness Site Lead Responsibilities:- Leading the design, implementation, and management of electrical, network, and other technical uplift requirements, including providing supervision, guidance, and leadership to assigned staff and non-staff resources (e.g. project resources)
- Leading the design, implementation, and management of device management resources, processes, and tools, including providing supervision, guidance, and leadership to assigned staff and non-staff resources (e.g. project resources)
- Understanding and ensuring alignment with processes and tools (e.g. Change and configuration management, procurement) used by FHA’s service providers and vendors
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to maximize the functionality and utility of FHA’s various end-user device footprints in support of various use cases
- Ensuring that internal and external stakeholders are aware of and able to comply with the requirements for successful transition of new and amended devices, peripherals, and support services into FHA’s environment
- Providing support to Senior Leadership, often in the form of detailed opportunity analyses and recommendations, participation in issues management discussions, and representation on functional working groups and committees
- Identifying, coordinating, and executing on changes required to enable the deployment of devices
- Defining, recommending, documenting, and managing projects
- Preparing, managing, and evaluating the procurement of external services by participating and/or managing the RFI, RFQ, and/or RFP process
