**THE OPPORTUNITY**

**Project Context**

Fraser Health is one of six health authorities in British Columbia. It provides clinical and community services across the care continuum to over 1.8 million people from Burnaby to Boston Bar and is the fastest growing health region in British Columbia. Fraser Health is responsible for a wide range of services including:

- 12 acute care hospitals
- outpatient care and day surgery center
- urgent care facilities
- over 7,760 long-term care beds
- mental health care & services
- public health services - home health services
- community care services

With over 26,000 employees, 2,900 physicians and more than 6,000 volunteers who provide our services and support our patients, residents and clients, Fraser Health is continuously improving the way we deliver care. In support of its goals for better health, better care, improved patient experience and lower costs, Fraser Health will modernize a core clinical information system. Today, Fraser Health runs a MEDITECH Client/Server 5.67 across 11 of 12 acute care sites (total 2,500 beds) and one out-patient and day surgery center and MEDITECH Expanse at one acute site. The implementation strategy for MEDITECH Expanse at the remaining sites, as part of the Advance project will focus on implementing current functionality, as well as, advanced clinical system capabilities, with the target goal to roll-out across all 12 sites. The advanced clinical systems will include full nursing and allied electronic documentation, physician documentation, closed loop medication management and computerized clinician order entry. Subsequent phases will replicate this implementation across all acute sites and the out-patient and surgical day center. Currently, the project is at the build and design phase and is looking for project management support around key areas as outlined in section 2.5 of this SOW.

**Service Required**

Devices and Technical Readiness Site Lead Responsibilities:

- Leading the design, implementation and management of device management resources, process and tools, including providing supervision, guidance and leadership to assigned staff and non-staff resources (e.g. project resources)
- Leading the development and maturation of FHA’s Device Management structure and environment Understanding and ensuring alignment with processes and tools (e.g. Change and configuration management, procurement) used by FHA’s service providers and vendors
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to maximize the functionality and utility of FHA’s various end-user device footprints in support of various use cases
- Supporting the development and maturation of overall Device and Peripheral Service - Management strategies and working closely with FHA’s Service Management SMEs to ensure appropriate service design, transition and operational support processes are in place and are effective
- Ensuring that internal and external stakeholders are aware of and able to comply with the requirements for successful transition of new and amended devices, peripherals, and support services into FHA’s environment
- Providing support to Senior Leadership, often in the form of detailed opportunities analyses and recommendations, participation in issues management discussions, and representation on functional working groups and committees
- Identifying, coordinating, and executing on changes required to enable the deployment of devices
- Defining, recommending, documenting, and managing projects
- Preparing, managing and evaluating the procurement of external services by participating and/or managing the RFI, RFQ and/or RFP process
- Go-live conversion and cut-over experience preferred
- Experience with computing devices preferred
- Performs other duties as required

**Support for the Meditech Expanse Project**

Working with the Meditech Expanse Project structure and resources, this role will be responsible for identifying the device and peripheral requirements to ultimately inform the development of a device strategy, plan and the execution during the Meditech Expanse project. Specific expectations include definition and documentation of business requirements, gap analysis, strategy development (e.g. procurement, installation, configuration, deployment and testing), procurement and acquisition planning, assessment and execution of technical readiness (power, data, Wi-Fi, wall mounts, etc.), and issues/risk identification, documentation, assessment and mitigation. In order to be successful in supporting the Meditech Expanse project, the following core skillsets and competencies will be needed:

- Access to a vehicle for regular onsite visits to Fraser Health hospitals
- Experience in developing device and peripheral strategies and deployment plans
- Experience in leading and/or managing device deployment projects
