Transdev Canada is hiring a Certified Senior driving School Bus Instructor

As a Certified Senior driving School Bus Instructor , you will be responsible for training new and current school bus drivers, ensuring they are well-versed in our health and safety policies and procedures. Using the Alberta government approved curriculum. You will conduct driver evaluations, assist drivers in obtaining necessary licenses, and promote safe driving practices. Your role is crucial in maintaining our high standards of safety and customer service. Additionally, you’ll perform the role of a School Bus Driver when not training the rest of the team.

Your role:

  • Train new and current school bus drivers on health and safety policies.
  • Assist drivers in obtaining a Class 2 license with an S endorsement.
  • Practice defensive driving and promote safe driving habits.
  • Manage student behavior according to company policies and report any issues.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, including route change sheets, timecards, and vehicle repair requests.
  • Attend and participate in all company safety meetings.
  • Follow all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the company.

Your Profile:

  • Valid provincial Class 2-S Driver’s License or higher required.
  • Clean driver's abstract, clear criminal background check, and Vulnerable Sector Screening Test.
  • Previous training experience is an asset.
  • Cheerful and positive demeanor with a “can-do” approach.
  • Minimum two years of driving experience.
  • You must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing. 
  • This is a Full Time position, in our New Calgary location
