Purpose Of The Position
The position builds partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees. Provides guidance and direction to managers and employees on all HR matters.
Specific Responsibilities
- Provide advice and consulting services to employees and managers on people processes including, but not limited to coaching and conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, interpretation of human resources policies, and current employment legislation.
- Facilitate mediation meetings and workplace investigations.
- Partner with managers to provide day-to-day performance improvement guidance consistent with the organization policies, including coaching, counseling, managing poor performance, providing difficult performance management feedback, and supporting various career development needs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for HR matters to facilitate professional delivery of responsive, effective, and value-added HR services and solutions.
- Build a strong partnership with your clients by developing an in-depth understanding of their business needs.
- Act as an employee advocate/ombudsperson to facilitate employee relations issues and address organizational needs.
- Provide one-to-one coaching and recommendations on complex HR issues.
- Lead job evaluation program and CPL grade structure.
- Drive annual salary benchmarking, survey participation, results analysis, and implementation.
- Serve as the relationship manager for CPL benefits program vendor and lead on annual renewals.
- Understand market competitiveness on benefits offerings and make recommendations for program enhancement.
- Act as a wellness and mental health champion.
- Provide input to the CPL talent management strategy for client groups to support team member engagement, succession planning, development, and coaching.
- Work with department managers to identify recruitment needs.
- Partner with talent acquisition on recruitment strategy to attract qualified candidates.
- Actively support the interview process to contribute to hiring decisions and job offer details.
- Facilitate change management processes in client groups, assisting leaders and team members in communicating, understanding, and supporting organizational changes.
- Identify strategies for continuous improvements for employment practices, policies, job descriptions, and operational processes.
- Work with outside employment legal counsel on employment litigation matters, recommending an appropriate course of action on legal matters within their level of authority.
- Other HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
- University degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or the Arts.
- CHRM / CHRP designation preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical/GMP environment.
- Experienced in working in a culturally diverse, multi-location work environment.
- Flexible with the ability to adapt, respond quickly, and manage change in a fast-paced environment.
- Can manage multiple priorities and meet deliverables.
- Well-developed analytical HR skills, problem-solving, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills – able to compile and prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for internal and external use.
- Sound judgment and decision making, discretion, and initiative in dealing with confidential information and/or responding to inquiries.
- Skilled in consulting, influencing, and partnering with leaders in developing and/or executing people strategies to drive business performance. Able to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
