Job Description

PLEASE NOTE: This is a Hybrid position located in our Elmhurst, IL location 2-3 times per week.

This position will contribute directly to the enterprise’s global cloud architecture and help own the security vision and strategy for cloud-based applications. This person will be responsible for maintaining and elevating the security across our cloud environments. The Sr. Cloud Security Engineer role includes involvement in the creation and/or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures as well as ensuring compliance of cloud service providers. This person is expected to be fully aware of the enterprise’s security goals as established by its stated policies, procedures, and guidelines, and to actively work towards upholding those goals.

Responsibilities

  1. Build, deploy, and manage cloud security tools and services
  2. Design and implement scalable processes to provision cloud access
  3. Evaluate and respond to alerts and events from security tools
  4. Identify and resolve security issues across the cloud infrastructure
  5. Collaborate with security leadership, engineering, and compliance to execute security strategies
  6. Review our cloud architecture and design through a security lens to provide actionable, timely requirements and recommendations
  7. Serve as a subject matter expert for security tools, applications, and processes
  8. Conduct cloud security planning to determine and describe security necessities
  9. Maintain knowledge of diverse cloud platforms
  10. Develop cloud security criteria, procedures, and policies
  11. Integrate cloud-aware authentication mechanisms
  12. Utilize security orchestration and response automation (SOAR) for cloud environments
  13. Provide guidance and oversight for the correction of discovered cloud vulnerabilities
  14. Perform security operations (SecOps) responsibilities
  15. Integrate security into the development lifecycle of software (SSDLC)
  16. Establish requirements, methodologies, and operational metrics for software development procedure (SecDevOps)
  17. Assist other teams in solving security issues in a manner that complies with business requirements and best practices

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related area preferred, plus 3-8 years of experience in Cloud Security OR 8-10 years of Cloud Security Experience
  2. Experience architecting Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure solutions
  3. Experience deploying and customizing security tools such as vulnerability scanners, static analyzers, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security monitoring
  4. Experience with log management and/or correlation systems
  5. Fluent in one or more programming or scripting language
  6. Thorough understanding of cloud and network security
  7. Knowledge of modern cloud technology components and deployment patterns
  8. Knowledge of Zero Trust principles
