Supply Chain Specialist

Role Overview

Reporting to the Director, Contracts, the Specialist will provide procurement and contract support to the Rook I project. Duties will be focused on our ERP system (SAP), data analysis, supplier management, contract negotiations, process improvement, technology utilization and risk management. The role will require a solid understanding of contracts, procurement, information systems as well as indigenous engagement and supply chain principles.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • Act as the focal point for the SAP system to manage the procure to pay cycle for all materials and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including exploration, engineering, technical services, site, project controls and other business units, to gather relevant information required for requisition processing
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns and anomalies
  • Develop metrics and reports to monitor supply chain performance
  • Oversee data taxonomy and nomenclature development
  • Negotiate complex contracts to ensure cost effectiveness
  • Identify inefficiencies in the supply chain and implement process improvements to enhance speed, reduce costs, and improve quality
  • Review contract documents and ensure work is completed, and invoices are congruent with the contract
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies
  • Monitor global events which could impact supply chain operations
  • Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions
  • Liaise with the community engagement team to support NexGen’s indigenous engagement commitments
  • Provide support and assistance to the supply chain team as needed

Education and Experience

  • 8 - 12 years of procurement and/or contract management experience
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, Engineering or SCMP designation, MBA considered an asset
  • Experience in a major mining project environment would be considered an asset
  • Experience with a variety of ERP systems, SAP would be considered an asset

LOCATION

This position will be based in the Saskatoon project office
