Summary

Reporting to the VP of Asset, Capital, and Camp, this position is responsible for the comprehensive management and optimization of a diverse portfolio of properties. This role encompasses strategic oversight and collaboration with other leaders across several key areas, including portfolio management, financial management, risk management, vendor management, property operations, workplace safety and health, environmental and social responsibility, and people management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and optimize the performance of a diverse property portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and maximizing asset value
  • Manage budget, financial forecasts, and capital expenditure plans to ensure fiscal responsibility and profitability
  • Working with VP for Finance & Risk Management; Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to property operations, market dynamics, and regulatory compliance to safeguard assets and ensure continuity
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring quality service delivery, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with contractual agreements
  • Ensure efficient and effective property operations, including maintenance and facility management, to maintain high standards of service and asset integrity
  • As part of Workplace Safety & Health Committee; implement and oversee workplace safety and health programs, ensuring compliance with legal standards and promoting a safe working environment
  • Promote and manage initiatives related to environmental sustainability and social responsibility, aligning with Y Winnipeg’s values and regulatory requirements
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of building operators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the asset management function

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Education in Business Management, Real Estate Management, Project Management or a related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in capital & asset management and property operations
  • Experience and Knowledge in portfolio management strategies
  • Financial management skills, including budgeting, financial forecasting, and capital expenditure planning
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to property operations, market dynamics, and regulatory compliance
  • Skilled at overseeing property operations, maintenance, and facility management
  • Proficient in leadership to mentor and develop a high-performing team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Database Platforms.
  • Emergency First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Manitoba Class 5F License and access to vehicle
  • RPA/ FMA/ SMA/ SMT designation is an asset.
