The Manitoba government is seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join the Asset Management Division of Consumer Protection and Government Services. This is a full-time position with a competitive benefits package and opportunities for professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of government facilities
  • Assisting tradespersons with maintenance and repair work
  • Conducting daily inspections of life safety systems to identify potential issues
  • Developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment

Requirements:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Clear Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Willingness to work flexible hours

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma in facility/property management
  • Experience in building maintenance, including HVAC
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships
