Calgary, Canada Summit Kids Full time

We are looking for a passionate childcare professional to join our dynamic, diverse, and multicultural team.

You will be working in a fully licensed program, with ages 5-12 facilitating a super fun, educational, and enriching experience for them.

As a successful candidate for this position, you must possess:

  • Level 2 or 3 Alberta Childcare Certification.

This position will start as a Summer Camp Lead (for Summit Summer program) and then transition into our registered before and after school care programs once the school year begins.

Our Summer Camp program runs from July 2nd, 2024, to August 23rd, 2024, Monday through Friday. Training will start in June. Staff must commit to working the entirety of the summer; no additional time off will be granted over the summer months.

Campus assignments for the upcoming school year will be provided as we approach the end of summer.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide full care for children from parent drop-off to pick-up.
  • Work actively with other Camp Leaders to design, plan, and conduct both recreational & educational camp activities in accordance with Summit core principles and foundational components.
  • Act with compassion while adhering to Summit policies and standards.
  • Guide and monitor our little campers at all times, as they explore various age-appropriate outdoor and indoor events and activities.
  • Ensure that the camp facilities are always safe and clean for our children.
  • Summit Summer is a licensed program. The Summer Camp Leaders are expected to strictly comply with licensing standards at all times.

Requirements:

  • Must possess Alberta Child Care Certificate Level 2 or 3.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to 1940 6th Ave NW (for Summit Summer).
  • Prior experience working with children would be an asset.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certification (don't worry, we'll hook you up).
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Clear criminal record check (with vulnerable sector search & done within the last 6 months).
  • Fun-loving, engaging & upbeat personality.
  • Physical ability/fitness to participate in our indoor & outdoor fun activities.
  • High level of responsibility and accountability.
