Position: Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Co-op
Primary Location: North Vancouver, BC
Schedule: Full time, on site
Reports To: Senior Process Engineer and/or Capital Projects Manager
Compensation: $25 - $32 per hour
Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. Rates may also be determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

In This Role, You Will:
- Assist the engineering team at the North Vancouver, BC plant with their daily activities.
- Manage small projects related to productivity, plant reliability, process improvements, and documentation—all with an emphasis on safety.
A Successful Candidate Has:
- Education: Chemical or Mechanical engineering student; second or third year preferable.
- Experience: One or more previous work terms preferable.
- Duration: Commitment to 8-or 12-month terms preferable.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in all areas of engineering, computers, and engineering programs as expected from mechanical or chemical engineering students. Good organization and communication skills.
Specific Role Responsibilities:
- Understand, uphold, demonstrate, and improve the Chemtrade safety culture.
- Provide technical information and assistance to engineering, operations, and maintenance functions.
- Assist with capital and maintenance projects (including SAP and CARs).
- Assist in MOC, PHA, and other IMS-related items and procedures.
- Assist on or lead productivity projects, including review of software tools for plant admin and documentation systems and procedures.
- Collect plant process data as needed for projects.
- Enter the plant as necessary to assist with projects or data-gathering.
- Input and reorganize information in the plant equipment and drawing files.
- Check backdrafted P&ID updates.
- Document work done during the co-op work term.
- Any other duties as assigned that are deemed to pose a minimum risk.
Physical Occupational Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods.
