Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Professor of Teaching and Education

Department: Chemical and Biological Engineering

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced educator to join our faculty as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Teaching and Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in our Chemical and Biological Engineering programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a range of courses in chemical and biological engineering, including laboratory courses and experiential learning experiences.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching practices that enhance learning outcomes and career opportunities for engineering students.
  • Provide leadership in educational leadership activities, including curriculum development and implementation of new teaching paradigms.
  • Engage in research and scholarly activities that contribute to the advancement of teaching and learning in engineering education.
  • Participate in departmental and university service activities, including committee work and community outreach.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Chemical and/or Biological Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Registration as a professional engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring students in engineering education.
  • Strong research and scholarly activities in teaching and learning in engineering education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
