WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

An HR Generalist, working through pre-established standards and corporate programs, is responsible for providing performance conversations and coaching to leaders and employees in various HR-related topics, such as:

  1. Leaves
  2. Terminations
  3. Compensation to resolve any issues that may arise

They engage employees in various activities designed to increase retention in the workplace, work with Business Unit Leaders to forecast staffing/skills needs, support performance management and learning programs. Collaborating with leaders to effectively influence decision-making as it pertains to HR matters including consistent/daily performance coaching, talent management, conflict resolution, and workforce planning.

Managing employee data/records from Hire to Termination in the HRIS system (Human Capital Management). Handling sensitive and confidential employee relations issues, including:

  1. Performance management
  2. Absence management
  3. Discipline
  4. Workplace conflict and investigations

Assisting with annual training and the development of course materials as required. Participating in the administration of perks programming, compensation and benefits, and return-to-work plans. Working with business units to innovate employment practices and initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

  1. Minimum 3 years' experience in Human Resources required including experience dealing with a variety of employee relations issues
  2. Previous experience in HRIS systems (Workday)
  3. Sound knowledge of employment/labour laws (Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act) required
  4. HR designation (CHRP/CHRL) or equivalent preferred
  5. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, and clients.
