WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
An HR Generalist, working through pre-established standards and corporate programs, is responsible for providing performance conversations and coaching to leaders and employees in various HR-related topics, such as:
- Leaves
- Terminations
- Compensation to resolve any issues that may arise
They engage employees in various activities designed to increase retention in the workplace, work with Business Unit Leaders to forecast staffing/skills needs, support performance management and learning programs. Collaborating with leaders to effectively influence decision-making as it pertains to HR matters including consistent/daily performance coaching, talent management, conflict resolution, and workforce planning.
Managing employee data/records from Hire to Termination in the HRIS system (Human Capital Management). Handling sensitive and confidential employee relations issues, including:
- Performance management
- Absence management
- Discipline
- Workplace conflict and investigations
Assisting with annual training and the development of course materials as required. Participating in the administration of perks programming, compensation and benefits, and return-to-work plans. Working with business units to innovate employment practices and initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Human Resources required including experience dealing with a variety of employee relations issues
- Previous experience in HRIS systems (Workday)
- Sound knowledge of employment/labour laws (Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act) required
- HR designation (CHRP/CHRL) or equivalent preferred
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, and clients.
