About the job:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Human Resources Manager to join our team. The Human Resources Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficient operation of our organization's administrative activities in our Calgary office. This key role involves overseeing various administrative functions, including human resources, payroll, finance, communication coordination, administrative tasks, and team leadership while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. This position will work in coordination with the central HR team to ensure alignment and effective execution of processes. The Office Administration Manager serves as a central liaison, facilitating communication among departments and providing leadership and support to administrative staff, ensuring tasks are carried out effectively.

What you will be doing:

Human Resources and Payroll:

  • Manage all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate with the central HR team to ensure the implementation of HR policies.
  • Handle financial tasks such as budgeting, expense tracking, invoice processing, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure financial operations are conducted in alignment with the central finance team.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Streamline administrative processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor office needs, manage supplies, and provide administrative support.
  • Ensure that administrative staff have the necessary tools and resources to perform their tasks effectively.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Facilitate communication within the organization, ensuring information flow between departments and teams.
  • Coordinate with central management to ensure the implementation of company policies and procedures in the local office.

Leadership and Support:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to administrative staff, promoting a positive work environment and fostering professional development.
  • Address operational challenges and find effective solutions to maintain business continuity and support organizational goals.

What we are looking for:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in office administration, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Understanding of Canadian labor laws, employment standards, and regulations.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in human resources management practices, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Experience with payroll administration processes, including payroll software and compliance with Canadian payroll regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and familiarity with office management software and systems.
  • Fluency in English is essential, while proficiency in French is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with internal teams, stakeholders, and external contacts.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to motivate and mentor staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in administrative tasks and data management.
