As our new Environmental Scientist / Engineer in Regina, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.

Job Description

Role

Your passion for fieldwork and the environment will see you executing and leading a variety of programs related to the assessment, monitoring, management, and remediation of contaminated sites. No two days will be the same as you lead and support different aspects of varied projects at a range of urban and remote sites including upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas facilities, commercial and industrial properties, and federal and municipal owned sites. Your knowledge and experience will be invaluable to our team and will see you involved in the full life-cycle of projects as you assist the project manager, with budgeting, planning, coordinating, and executing projects, data analysis and reviews, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  1. Participation in all facets of environmental or contaminated site projects including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, remediation programs, and long-term environmental monitoring of sites
  2. Lead fieldwork programs involving sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, soil vapour, surface water, decommissioning and remediation programs, and remediation system operation and maintenance
  3. Prepare a variety of technical reports
  4. Effectively mentor junior staff in fieldwork/task management skills while at the same time being mentored by more senior professionals
  5. Support project managers with project planning, coordination, reporting, and tracking schedules and budget
  6. Assist with technical and financial proposal preparation

Qualifications/Education/Memberships

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:

  • Minimum of a degree or a technical diploma in environmental science, engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or environmental related studies.
  • Ideally 5-10 years of experience in contaminated site work including leading environmental site assessments (Phase II ESA), soil and groundwater sampling, and remediation programs.
  • Knowledge and practical application of health & safety requirements unique to subsurface investigations and contaminated sites.
  • Able to work independently, including ability to work alone in remote locations and adapt to conditions/resources.
  • Professional status or eligibility for professional status with a professional organization (
