The Assistant Store Manager aids in the management of the retail store consistent with the short and long term interests of the Company, its employees and the local community. Provides customers with the highest level of service possible and assists the Store Manager in achieving budgeted revenue goals and monitoring expenses.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Personnel Development:
  1. Instill in employees the meaning and importance of customer service as outlined in Be the Brand customer service program.
  2. Assist in the hiring of people who pursue passions that relate to the products and philosophy.
  3. Inspire employees so that each person contributes to the productivity of the store.
  4. Delegate work load appropriately and effectively.
  5. Working with the Store Manager, develop a pool of potential Store Managers/supervisors to meet the long-range retail and Company objectives.
  6. Empower staff to "use their best judgment" in all customer service matters.
Operations:
  1. Assume responsibility for opening and closing the store and securing all assets.
  2. Maintain store security system, including building security and cash handling.
  3. Be personally available to all customers to communicate and identify their needs and address their questions or concerns.
  4. Assume Store Manager responsibilities in the Manager's absence.
Finance:
  1. Assist the Store Manager in formulating the annual fiscal business plan.
  2. Prepare the labor schedule to ensure that the store goals will be met through appropriate planning and organization of staff.
  3. Maintain acceptable inventory shrinkage measured as a percentage of sales.
Functional Competencies:
  1. Proficient in Microsoft Applications.
  2. Ability to effectively prepare and present information and respond to questions from management, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  3. Effective empowering communicator, good problem solver.
  4. Knowledgeable in current trends.
  5. Innovative manager with people & processes.
  6. Sets plans & objectives, clearly delegates tasks.
  7. Develops, manages and trains direct reports.
  8. Experience working effectively in complex global organizations, satisfying the needs of diverse constituents, and often working under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and problem solving abilities.
  10. Excellent team-building, project management and organizational skills.
  11. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  12. Exceptional attention to detail.
  13. Valid Driver’s License.
Education/Experience:
  1. Education: Associates Strongly Preferred.
  2. Work Experience: 2-4 years of retail store management experience strongly preferred.
