VICE PRESIDENT, NATIONAL CONTRACT SURETY LEADER
The Vice President, National Contract Surety is a member of the National Surety team who will lead our dedication to underwriting and exceptional customer service to our brokers and clients. Be considered a market expert by colleagues and competitors with very strong underwriting acumen with a track record of success. Considered passionate and result-oriented with the capability to build upon and foster relationships with internal and external clients.

This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Surety for Canada.

Accountabilities:
  • Deliver the overall vision and road map for the Canadian Contract Surety line of business in close consultation with Trisura’s senior leadership team
  • Coaching and mentoring of Trisura’s contract surety underwriting team
  • Recognized in the industry and internally as the contract surety subject matter expert
  • Work with the regional underwriting teams, brokers, and clients to ensure the underwriting decisions and philosophy align with the goals of Trisura
  • Attend meetings with strategic brokers and clients across Canada
  • Creation and communication of key production indicators to drive underwriting behavior
  • Regular management reporting identifying trends in Trisura’s contract surety portfolio
  • Review larger, more complex accounts as well as assess underwriting decisions for specific bonds outside of regional underwriting authority
  • Manage and conduct ongoing reviews of Trisura’s contract surety portfolio in Canada including implementation of audit procedures ensuring the quality of accounts underwritten and adherence to procedures and philosophy
  • Oversee any contract surety MGA business and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines
  • Ownership in the development, documentation, and communication of various underwriting guidelines
  • Help define the overall software product vision and road map for contract surety, including assisting with specification development, testing, and implementation
Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Surety industry gained through 10+ years of underwriting experience providing Surety solutions
  • Proven experience with financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and valuation.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Dedication to exceptional customer service
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Passion for excellence and detail-oriented
  • Self-motivation and entrepreneurial outlook with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work within a team environment
  • Bachelor/BBA/BCom/MBA or related degree with Accounting, Finance, or Economics concentration

Bilingual (French and English) an asset.
