POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team You are excellent at building relationships cross functionally and with diverse business leaders; you are skilled at achieving and supporting results through influence vs. authority.


In this role you will provide HR support for client groups both within the Calgary Support Office and UFA’s field locations, collaborating closely with business leaders to align HR strategies with business objectives, enhance employee engagement, and foster a high performing, accountable culture. This role reports to the Manager, Human Resources Business Partners.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provide strategic guidance and coaching to client group leaders through the full employee life cycle, considering HR best practices as well as UFA policies and programs to support employee engagement and organizational performance.
  • Develop and demonstrate proven understanding of the business, taking a consultative approach with client groups to anticipate, assess and provide HR solutions to complex and nuanced employee matters.
  • Provide guidance and operational support to management, employees, and other HR team members to effectively address workplace issues including workplace investigations.
  • Work with hiring managers to interpret compensation analysis data, complete job descriptions, determine job requirements and targeted pay banding in support of attracting and retaining talent.
  • Leverage reporting and data to analyze and identify people issues and trends within the assigned client group, participating in their resolution.
  • Partner with HR team members to monitor and implement new or revised policies, programs, and services to meet current and evolving needs of the business.
  • Conduct research and provide recommendations to enhance or streamline HR processes, procedures, and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business or human resources.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in HR Advising and/or Business Partnering, Employee Relations, and/or Performance Management
  • Above average relationship building, influencing, and creative/critical thinking skills
  • Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems, making informed decisions, and the initiative to formulate a plan for resolution.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the development and administration of HR policies, practices, and procedures
  • Able to adapt to and thrive within a changing environment.
  • Able to segment competing priorities accordingly and driven to produce high quality results in a high volume environment.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems - experience in SAP and/or SuccessFactors is an asset
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) is a preferred asset
  • Occasional travel to field locations may be required
