Your new Company
The business brings over 35 years of experience, operating as a privately owned, trusted, Canadian investment firm. Due to progression planning, the Human Resources team is, hiring a Bilingual Employee Relations Manager.
Your new Role
As the Bilingual Employee Relations Manager, you will be responsible to provide Human Resources support, consultation and education to your client groups; including employees and managers, in relation to employee relations, HR policy interpretation and Leave of Absence (LOA) management. Your day to day duties will be to: respond to questions regarding employment, compensation, time away policies, employee issue resolution and performance management; to educate employees and managers on HR tools and resources; to prepare and deliver training program on various HR programs, in conjunction with the Learning & Development Specialist; to resolve policy interpretation issues, and recommend changes as needed; to investigate complaints and develop and action plan using the facts of the case( interviewing employees, identifying root causes and making recommendations); to coach employees and managers with difficult discussions relating to termination, employee issues, LOA and performance management; to asses incoming issues and determine escalation route depending; to ensure legislative compliance requirements and deadlines are met.
What you’ll need to Succeed
To succeed as the Bilingual Employee Relations Manager, you will bring 5-10 years of experience in a progressive HR Generalist capacity/ Business Partnering capacity, with a solid understanding of applicable legislation (ESA). You will have completed a bachelor’s degree, having a focus in HR Management is considered an asset. Finally, you must have completed post secondary HR education in the form of an HRM and/ or CHRP/ CHRL (the business values the CHRL designation, and support employees to achieve if not yet pursued). You will be bilingual in French and English, and have strong verbal and written communication skills. You will have an ability to listen and respond to complex issues, and be a passionate problem solver as a Human Resources leader. If you bring experience in a Financial and/ or professional services industry, this is considered an asset, though as long as you have the polish, presentation and passion to work with a leading Investment Firm, the organization is open to individuals who qualify and bring different industry experience.
