Position: Financial Analyst Location: Toronto Our client in the government sector is looking for a Financial Analyst for a 6-month contract to join their team. The primary function of the Financial Analyst is managing all accounting analysis, managing financial project system, financial funding and financial reporting. Responsibilities include: - Prepare and reviewing complex financial information and reporting. - Review and analyze financial statements. - Identify financial risk. - Be responsible for ongoing financial system and data maintenance including the review and analysis of financial systems. - Develop the final consolidation product and various internal financial reports for use in Ontario government financial statements. - Develop financial and business processes, operational policies, reporting systems, etc. - Oversee complex and critical projects to ensure completion within requirements. - Review business cases/applications. About you: - Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. - Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness in tackling challenges. - Good communication skills and a flair to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. - Attention to detail, data integrity, and accuracy. Your experience includes: - Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar capacity accounting and/or finance experience. - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, and/or related equivalent. - MBA, CPA, CMA is preferred. - Experience utilizing an SAP (ERP system), and proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
