CAREER OPPORTUNITY: MANAGER, COMMUNICATIONS & EVENTS


Canada Pork is the domestic and global market development and promotion organization for the Canadian pork industry. Canada Pork is a joint initiative of the Canadian Pork Council representing Canada’s 7,000 pork producers and the Canadian Meat Council, representing pork processors and trading companies.


Reporting to the President & CEO, the position is responsible for the managements of Canada Pork’s communications and events.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develop and execute the organization’s communication strategies
  • Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all organization publications (traditional and web)
  • Coordinate the appearance of all Organization print and electronic materials 
  • Lead and oversee CPI’s participation at international trade shows & events
  • Manage promotional seminars abroad
  • Develop, implement and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing/communications/public relations function
  • Lead other projects as assigned 


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or similar area of study.
  • 3+ years of experience in a communications role.
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and activities. 
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Bilingual (French/English), excellent writing/proofreading/editing and verbal communication skills (advanced level).
  • Ability to take initiative/able to work independently/ability to prioritize and follow through effectively.
  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • A keen attention to detail.
  • Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Availability to travel in Canada and abroad.

Porc Canada est l'organisation de développement et de promotion du marché national et global pour l'industrie porcine canadienne. Porc Canada est une initiative conjointe du Conseil canadien du porc, qui représente les 7 000 producteurs de porcs du Canada, et du Conseil des viandes du Canada, lequel représente les entreprises de transformation et maisons de commerce de la viande de porc.


Sous la responsabilité du président-directeur général, le titulaire du poste est chargé de la gestion des communications et des événements de Porc Canada.


RESPONSABILITÉS GÉNÉRALES


  • Élaborer et mettre en œuvre les stratégies de communication de l'organisation.
  • Responsable de la direction éditoriale, de la conception, de la production et de la distribution de toutes les publications de l'organisation (traditionnelles et en ligne).
  • Coordonner l'apparence de tous les documents imprimés et électroniques de l'organisation. 
  • Diriger et superviser la participation de PC à des salons et événements internationaux.
  • Gérer les séminaires de promotion à l'étranger
  • Élaborer, mettre en œuvre et contrôler les systèmes et procédures nécessaires au bon fonctionnement de la fonction marketing/communication/relations publiques.
  • Diriger d'autres projets en fonction des besoins 


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Baccalauréat en communication, marketing, relations publiques ou dans un domaine d'études similaire.
  • 3 ans ou plus d'expérience dans une fonction de communication.
  • Compétences, connaissances et expérience avérées en matière de conception et d'exécution d'activités de marketing et de communication. 
  • Compétences en matière de communication.
  • Bilingue (français/anglais), excellentes aptitudes de rédaction, de révision, d’édition et communication orale (niveau avancé).
  • Capacité à prendre des initiatives, à travailler de manière indépendante, à établir des priorités et à assurer un suivi efficace.
  • Solides compétences en matière d'organisation et de travail en équipe.
  • Excellentes compétences en matière d'organisation et de gestion du temps.
  • Un grand souci du détail.
  • Expérience de la supervision de la conception et de la production de documents imprimés et de publications.
  • Maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office.
  • Disponibilité pour voyager au Canada et à l'étranger.
