The Canadian Dental Association (CDA) is seeking a dynamic, results oriented Communications Manager to join its Governance & Communications team on a full-time basis. Under the direction of the Head of Governance & Communications, the Communications Manager is responsible for internal and external communication functions of CDA to promote and advance the dental profession and support the oral health of Canadians. In addition to developing and executing CDA-driven communication tactics and plans, the Communications Manager provides support to the Communication’s team to ensure consistency in planning, processes, and messaging across CDA’s communication vehicles.

**Your Primary Responsibilities will be;**
- to support and manage the work allocation process for all communication functions of CDA, including projects, campaigns, and various communications channels and publications.
- to develop strategic communications plans. Work cross-functionally to develop and execute communications tactics, plans, and strategies that contribute to a consistent voice and narrative and support CDA’s strategic planning and goals.
- to draft speaking notes for official CDA spokespeople. Develop PowerPoint presentations for CDA officials and Board of Directors, writes backgrounders, key messages, Q&As and other communications products to support various projects.
- to work collaboratively with the Media Relations Specialist to establish and maintain positive working relationships with national media. Provide oversight of ensuring timely media responses and acts as the second point of contact for media inquiries.
- to ensure that strategies and annual work plans for the communications department is executed in a timely and successful manner, and within budget.
- to manage the CDA website, annual Affiliate Membership campaign, and provides oversight of CDA’s presence at provincial and territorial dental association conventions.

**You should have;**
- a university degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Journalism or Business.
- 5 to 10 years of direct work experience in communications and media relations.

**And if;**
- you display exceptional writing and editing skills, and you have experience writing a wide variety of communications content (speeches, press releases, letters, collateral, website content, social media content, etc.).
- you have managed people, projects, relationships, budgets, vendors, and agencies before and you excel at it.
- your oral and interpersonal communication skills are outstanding.
- you are very comfortable in a high-performance, fast-paced culture and you can effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- you are resilient, highly flexible and a solutions-oriented person.
- you are bilingual and you possess knowledge of dentistry or healthcare, these would be considered an asset.
