Winnipeg, Canada Paterson Grain Full time

Paterson Grain currently has an opportunity for an outgoing, self-motivated professional to fill the role of Recruitment Specialist at our head office located in downtown Winnipeg, MB. Using your creative energy, this individual will execute recruiting strategies for our field locations that enable the company to meet current and/or anticipated staffing needs. This individual will work closely with location managers to understand the local market, research and headhunt potential candidates and manage the full-cycle recruiting process (posting to offer). As a key member of our HR team, you will also help support ongoing projects, data entry, file maintenance, and other administrative tasks as needed. This role is best suited for someone who has the ability to multitask and can work in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage all field recruiting activities for Paterson companies as directed to ensure vacant and new positions are filled with the best available people in a timely manner;
  • Assist with onboarding documentation for new hires;
  • Create job descriptions and manage online and print advertising;
  • Schedule interviews and meetings with directors from different management teams;
  • Conduct new hire orientations and collaborate with management on training plans;
  • Actively build relationships in the rural communities we serve to ensure our brand is recognized and represented;
  • Participate in college/university recruiting initiatives through attendance at Career Fairs and other post-secondary events;
  • Review current programs, policies and practices and recommend improvements;
  • Provide administrative support to the unit & other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education (Human Resources preferred);
  • 2+ years of experience in a recruitment, HR Coordinator or Administrative role;
  • Strong sourcing skills and the ability to do cold calling and head hunting considered an asset;
  • Experience in agriculture or Western Canada rural recruitment considered an asset;
  • Exceptional commitment to customer service with demonstrated ability to build relationships with colleagues at various levels.
