About the Role:


The Business Development Lead position is a key growth and transformation role within TCS’ Market Unit responsible for driving and executing Business Development strategies to acquire new business opportunities across Public Sector (Both Federal and Provincial). This is a proactive demand generation and selling role aimed at acquiring new clients in Canada’s Public Sector. The candidate will leverage TCS’s entire portfolio of services for targeted Public Sector entities while working collaboratively with other market development, solutions teams, and industry SMEs to create demand and capture qualified opportunities.


Job Description: Expectation from the role


  • Create and develop new business development and opportunities for the Public Sector Vertical. The role is primarily focused on new logo acquisitions in the Public Sector.
  • Create market momentum and demand for TCS’ portfolio of solutions and services in the industry verticals as mentioned above.
  • Build cross functional CXO relationships and actively engage with senior company executives of prospect organizations to build strategic relationships for business opportunities with TCS’ ecosystem to proactively shape large deals and proposal strategies for the target segment.
  • Maintain TCV growth targets, originate deals, acquire new logos through proactive-demand generation, consultative selling and thought leadership to our prospects throughout their buying journey.
  • Inform Prospects/ customers on current trends in industry, technology, transformation, and business best practices sharing TCS’ winning strategies and success stories.


What we are looking for.

  • Minimum of 10- 12 years of overall selling experience with majority of the experience in selling to Canadian Public Sector / Government vertical
  • Demonstrated experience and ability in creating new opportunities for the defined location with a strong network in the region and target vertical.
  • Preferably worked in a leading IT services firm with prior experience of working with global teams.
  • Proven experience and success track record of selling technology and IT solutions and services to new or prospective customers. Experience in selling medium to large multiyear integrated deals will be preferred.
