Junior Estimator

We're hiring a Junior Estimator on behalf of our client, a construction company based in Surrey, BC. Our client designs, manufactures, and installs custom pre-engineered steel and metal buildings for commercial, industrial, agricultural, and government sectors. Reporting to the VP of Sales and working closely with the Senior Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the sales team by managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely proposal submissions.Responsibilities:Reviewing drawings and specifications to define project scope, identify interdependencies, and capture full envelope requirementsCoordinating vendor and subcontractor pricing, managing RFIs, and ensuring timely responsesLearn to prepare tendering packages for pre-engineered metal building systems.Assist senior estimator with design, pricing, labor packages, and pre-technical bid packages.Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and reliable serviceSupporting proposal development in collaboration with sales staff to deliver complete and client-ready submissionsManaging multiple estimates simultaneously under strict timelines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detailParticipating in weekly sales meetings and collaborating closely with sales, estimating, and project teamsAssisting in sourcing, prequalifying, and expanding the vendor database to improve market competitivenessContributing to a collaborative team culture by sharing information, supporting colleagues, and adapting to evolving systems and processesQualifications:1-4 years of estimating experience in the institutional, commercial, or industrial (ICI) construction sector.A diploma or technical certification in building technology, architectural/structural detailing, or equivalent experience gained in a construction estimating role will also be considered.Knowledge of vendor/subcontractor coordination, bid management, and RFIsExcellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills to manage multiple estimates simultaneouslyStrong relationship-building and collaboration skills with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teamsExperience in structural engineering, architectural/structural detailing, or pre-engineered metal building systems (asset)Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar software (asset)Proposal preparation or CRM experience as an estimator (asset)What we can offer you:$60k - $75k annual salary (depending on experience)Extended health coverage, including dental, vision, and paramedical servicesA flexible hybrid work model (after 6 months)Generous time off, including three weeks of paid vacation, one week of paid sick leave, and 24 hours of flexible personal leave annually$1,500 annual tuition support for job-related college or university courses (available after one year)Participation in a Professional Development Program (PDP), with paid training time, an average of $1,500 in annual learning and development support, and coverage for professional designationsAnnual performance-based salary increases (2–4%) tied to PDP engagementA team-oriented and modern workspace with a fully stocked lunchroom, including snacks, summer treats, and social spacesRegular appreciation and recognition initiatives, including monthly catered lunches or offsite PDP sessions, and team celebrations such as attending conferences and award ceremonies in locations like Cabo and MiamiHow to Apply: Through this posting or email your resume to admin@sitetalent.caAbout SiteTalent:We are a specialized growth and talent partner for the industrial sector.
