MajorResponsibilities:

• Perform alllevels of preventive maintenance services

•Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order

• Maintain work area appearance and safety

• Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnosemalfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.

• Perform duties with little or no supervision and in atimely and efficient manner

• Use hand toolssuch as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, andprecision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumaticwrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.

• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheelbearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are inproper operating condition.

• Perform routinemaintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, andlubricating equipment and machinery.

• Adjustand replace brake, tighten bolts and screws, and reassembleequipment.

• Raise trucks, buses, and heavyparts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.

• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment todiagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheldcomputers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressuregauges.

• Examine and adjust protective guards,loose bolts, and specified safety devices.

•Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensureconformance to factory specifications.

•Specialize in repairing and troubleshooting of major componentssuch as engine, transmissions and differentials, to includereplacing complete assemblies, turbochargers, fuel systemcomponents etc.

• Other projects and tasks asassigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• 5+ years practical experience with tractor trailermaintenance required

• Must possess respectiveProvincial License such as Red Seal/310T

• Mustmaintain membership/registration with respective GovernmentAgencies

• Current driver's license class D orclass 3 with air brake certification required or ability to obtainit within 6 months of being hired

• Proficiencyin the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment,diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools) required

• Basic computer skills required

•Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditionsrequired

• Specialized training and experiencein the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines,transmissions, differentials), OEM training coursespreferred

• Regular, predictable, fullattendance is an essential function of the job

•Willingness to travel as necessary within the district (customersyards, close geographical area and training sites), work therequired schedule, work at the specific location required, completePenske employment application, submit to employment referencechecks.
