Role Responsibilities
As a member of Information Services Unit, major responsibilities of the position include:
Examine and classify a variety of digital multimedia evidence including BWV and ICDV media evidence. Use various technologies and a range of software techniques to vet and/or convert media evidence. Record all procedures followed and technologies used during the editing process, with the knowledge and understanding that this information is subject to disclosure. Prioritize court ready media or documents to meet defined deadlines. Complete copies for disclosure submission requests in a time sensitive manner. Complete conversion of media and editing requests. Receive inquiries from the Ministry FOIP office, examine the Sheriff Branch information systems for responsive records, and coordinate any offline or paper record searches. Educate Sheriff Branch staff and other stakeholders regarding media submissions.This position requires the following technical skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience with non-linear video and audio editing software Strong understanding of audio/video media formats and conversion practices Strong judgement and analytical skills, excellent communication skills and demonstrated professionalism. The ability to work effectively alone and in a team environment. Sensitivity when dealing with confidential information.The following are examples of the problem solving and decision making the role will be tasked with:
Managing a high-volume workload with hard deadlines and shifting priorities. Evaluating the audio and/or video captured by Sheriff systems against the subjective list of information that needs to be redacted, and being able to articulate what was redacted and why. Assisting users of various technical abilities throughout the Branch with media and disclosure questions and issues. Exposure to media that may be graphic or disturbing-
