Healthcare Social Worker

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a skilled Healthcare Social Worker to join our team. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide a diverse range of interventions to clients and their families, enabling them to achieve their optimal level of functioning and health.

About the Role

  • Provide psychosocial assessments, adjustment therapy, supportive therapy, crisis counseling, resource counseling, discharge planning, and case management to clients and their families.
  • Advocate, educate, and collaborate with individuals and groups within the institution and community.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a dynamic and multifaceted team.

About You

  • Master's Degree in Social Work from a recognized university.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the NSCSW.
  • 2 years of clinical experience as a clinical Social Worker required.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of human behavior, including systems theory, family dynamics, group dynamics, and theories of behavior change.
  • Awareness of local community resources and agencies would be an asset.
  • Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License and access to a reliable automobile.
  • Experience working with patients with complex chronic health conditions preferred.
  • Experience co-facilitating education sessions with other multi-disciplinary team members preferred.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
