Job Title: Registered Psychiatric Nurse/RN
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Psychiatric Nurse/RN to join our team at Victoria General Hospital, providing professional nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs.
About the Role: As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse/RN, you will be responsible for providing independent nursing services, administering interventions and treatments, and facilitating coordination of patient care and discharge. You will work under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, and demonstrate a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/facility/unit.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide professional nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs.
- Administer interventions and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Facilitate coordination of patient care and discharge.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
- Graduate of an approved Registered Psychiatric Nursing program or approved Registered Nursing program.
- Registered Psychiatric Nurse or Registered Nurse with two years of recent, related mental health experience.
- Knowledge of College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses/Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Psychiatric/Registered Nurses.
- Ability to prioritize care for an individual patient or group of patients.
- Ability to delegate care appropriately and monitor outcomes of delegated care.
- Registered Psychiatric Nurse preferred.
- Knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
- Ability to communicate effectively in an Indigenous language.
