Job Summary: Provide professional nursing services for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs, including independent nursing services, administration of interventions and treatments, and leadership roles within the healthcare team.

- Provide professional nursing services for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs.
- Administer interventions and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Take a leadership role within the healthcare team to facilitate coordination of patient care and discharge.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of patients.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making adjustments to care plans as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved Registered Psychiatric Nursing program or approved Registered Nursing program.
- Active registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) or the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements.
- Knowledge of College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses/Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Psychiatric/Registered Nurses.
- Knowledge of College of Registered Psychiatric/Registered Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Registered Psychiatric/Registered Nurses.
- Scope of practice as documented in the Registered Psychiatric/Registered Nurses Act.
- Knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
- Nursing care knowledge related to clinical area.
- Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Protection of Persons in Care Act, Mental Health Act, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions) and other legislated acts.
- Roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team.
- Principles of delegation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recent, related mental health experience.
- Competency in an Aboriginal language and/or knowledge in Aboriginal customs, traditions and values.
