Unit Clerk, Oncology Clinic job involves performing clerical duties, maintaining a safe environment, and coordinating patient care in a busy cancer clinic setting.

As a collaborative member of the health care team, you will:

  • Transcribe and process clinician orders, schedule tests and services, and communicate patient information.
  • Organize diagnostic and therapeutic services, prepare instructions for patients, and coordinate appointments.
  • Gather patient information, transport documents, and prepare materials for the clinical team.
  • Perform receptionist duties, greet patients, answer phone calls, and respond to inquiries.
  • Participate in staff onboarding, demonstrate work procedures, and support student clinical practicums.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent experience.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to keyboard 40 w.p.m., operate related equipment, and utilize computer software applications.
  • Commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism principles.
