Director, Clinical Operations

The Director, Clinical Operations, plays a key role in leading clinical operations in a co-leadership partnership with Medical Directors. This position oversees multiple programs and services, ensuring culturally safe, anti-racist, trauma-informed patient-centered care. The Director provides leadership and direction for the overall management of assigned programs and services, including overseeing multiple program/service areas, creating and facilitating an environment of evidence-based care and culturally aware practices.
The Director establishes strategic direction and develops strategies and operational plans that effectively support the delivery of patient care services. Responsibilities include identifying service and budget priorities, allocating resources, program development, planning of goals and objectives, coordination of service delivery systems, and establishing and monitoring benchmarks and quality indicators.
**Key Responsibilities:** * Oversee the delivery of services in a co-leadership partnership with Medical Directors to ensure culturally safe, anti-racist, trauma-informed patient-centered care. * Develop strategic plans, goals, and annual objectives in collaboration with physician partners. * Ensure continuous improvement and redesign for optimizing resources and contributing to a sustainable healthcare system. * Oversee and provide leadership on systems and processes to support the development and management of annual operating and capital budgets. * Oversee and provide leadership on systems and processes to support all aspects of contract tendering, negotiation, approval, implementation, and ongoing monitoring. **Requirements:** * Master's Degree in a relevant discipline such as Nursing, Health Care Administration, or Business Administration. * Minimum of ten (10) years recent related experience, including experience in a senior administrative position within a healthcare organization. * Knowledge of current and future healthcare issues. * Excellent time management skills. * Effective fiscal and financial management skills. * Analytical and problem-solving skills. * Proven ability to negotiate and mediate resolutions to complex situations. * Ability to lead people, manage change, develop strategy, and execute on plans. * Ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment, building and sustaining effective relationships. * Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. * Working knowledge of applicable regulations, legislation, and collective agreements. * Proficiency in the use of personal computers and applicable software applications. * Understanding of various reports, including Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and how they intersect across the healthcare system. * Model and support full team commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism. * Demonstrate humility and heart-led leadership. * Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act. **About BC Cancer:** BC Cancer is part of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA).
