MRI Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MRI Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our MRI suites, including instruction of students and direction of staff. You will ensure that patient requisitions meet departmental standards and correlate clinical history with examinations to be performed.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in MRI technology and will be able to perform complex procedures designated via indirect supervision of the radiologist. You will be responsible for imaging procedures and patient care duties, and will consistently apply all safety rules and techniques applicable to the magnetic and radio frequency fields in use in the MRI environment.
About YouWe are looking for a professional who is a graduate of an accredited School with a diploma in Health Technology, e.g. RT and successful completion of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiological Technology MRI exams. You will also require Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification and Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure.
The ideal candidate will have previous MRI experience and demonstrate competency in I.V. insertion. You will be able to frequently make independent decisions assessing diagnostic results, recognizing the significance of all structures visualized, differentiating artifactual from normal or pathological and improvising standard techniques in routine and non-routine circumstances.
You will be a highly adaptable professional who can think critically and thrive as a member of a dynamic team. Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.
HoursThis is a long assignment full-time position, with 75 hours biweekly. You will be required to work call and shift work, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Compensation and IncentivesThe successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $39.96. You may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
