We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment, performing imaging procedures, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes
- Perform imaging procedures, including MRI scans, to ensure accurate diagnoses
- Provide exceptional patient care, including preparing patients for procedures and ensuring their comfort and safety
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans
- Stay up-to-date with the latest imaging technologies and techniques to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School with a diploma in Health Technology, e.g. RT and successful completion of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiological Technology MRI exams
- Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
- Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
- Previous MRI experience preferred
- Demonstrate competency in I.V. insertion
- Frequent independent decisions assessing diagnostic results recognizing the significance of all structures visualized, differentiating artifactual from normal or pathological and improvising standard techniques in routine and non-routine circumstances
- Ensures competency, maintains an ongoing interest in updating knowledge on new equipment and procedures
- Practices excellent patient care; demonstrating courtesy, kindness and understanding using effective communication skills
- Operates computer system in regard to patient information
- Highly adaptable professional who can think critically and thrive as a member of a dynamic team
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Working Conditions:
- Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
- Approximately 12 months
- Call and shift work required, evenings, nights, and weekends
Compensation and Incentives:
$39.96 hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
