Technical Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Officer to join our Human Health Therapeutics (HHT) Research Centre. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our researchers and project leaders in the exciting field of biomarker translational research.

About the Role

  • Support the development and implementation of analytical methods for biomarker discovery and assay development.
  • Conduct sample processing, assay setup, and troubleshooting of experimental methods.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry based metabolomics platform.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to train and assist in administrative and support roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a lab environment.
  • Strong knowledge of principles of 'omics, molecular biology, liquid biopsies, cell cultures, cell-based assays, and imaging analysis.
  • Experience in protein and gene expression methodologies, mass spectrometry, and programming languages such as Python or R.

  • Technical competencies: knowledge of mass spectrometry, chromatography, and biological sample preparation techniques.
  • Ability to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize analytical methods.
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Behavioural competencies: research technician/technologist communication, creative thinking, results orientation, and teamwork.
