Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist sought to ensure workplace compliance with regulations and promote a safe working environment.

ABC Technologies, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of custom plastics and innovations, is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist to join its team. With a skilled workforce of over 11,000 team members, the company is strategically placed to offer vertically integrated product and process solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the workplace adheres to environmental regulations and safety standards, promoting a safe and healthy working environment for employees. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing environmental policies and procedures
  • Monitoring and managing waste disposal, air emissions, and wastewater discharge
  • Conducting environmental impact assessments and managing sustainability initiatives
  • Training employees on environmental, health, and safety practices
  • Investigating workplace accidents and incidents
  • Developing and maintaining emergency response plans
  • Conducting regular internal audits and inspections
  • Preparing and submitting reports to regulatory agencies
  • Serving as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 1-4 years of experience in an EHS leadership role in the manufacturing industry
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and/or OHSAS 18001/ISO/45001 standards
  • Strong understanding of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
  • Experience managing EHS projects and initiatives
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
