Job Summary:
As Simaril Supported Living continues to grow, we are expanding our Human Resource department by adding a new Recruiter position. This role will focus heavily on hiring for our Supported Independent Living (SIL) program, ensuring that we attract, select, and retain the best talent to support our mission. The Recruiter will manage the full recruitment cycle and provide vital administrative support within the Human Resource function.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruitment:

  • Coordinate and manage the entire recruitment process, from job posting to onboarding.
  • Attend job fairs and networking events to promote the agency and attract potential candidates.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and educational institutions.
  • Ensure all staffing needs align with funding requirements and organizational goals.

Employee Relations:

  • Maintain positive communication with colleagues, supported individuals, and external partners.
  • Address recruitment-related concerns and collaborate with department heads to meet staffing needs.
  • Uphold confidentiality and privacy standards in handling employee and applicant information.

Administrative Support:

  • Assist with onboarding new employees, ensuring they are well-informed of policies and procedures.
  • Manage employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in HR projects, committees, and events, contributing to the overall HR strategy.

Casual Team Leadership:

  • Oversee the Casual Team, ensuring regular communication and that they meet role requirements.
  • Support the employee Motivation Meeting process, contributing to team morale and retention.

Employee Engagement:

  • Collaborate with the HR team to implement employee engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain and analyze data on turnover rates, employee satisfaction, and other HR metrics.
  • Assist with organizing employee information sessions and participating in joint committees.

Policy Compliance:

  • Ensure that all employees are informed of and comply with current HR policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on labor laws and regulations to ensure the agency's compliance.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of HR experience, with a preference for recruiting experience.
  • Residential or Supported Independent Living recruiting experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships within the community.
  • Experience adapting to a dynamic work environment.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, automated workflows, and digital platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Experience working in cross-cultural settings and sensitivity to diverse cultures.
  • Ability to provide necessary employment documentation (e.g., Criminal Record Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check).

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • The job requires extended periods of sitting, walking, bending, and occasional lifting.
  • The Recruiter will be frequently exposed to noise and a regular flow of people in the office environment.
