Our mission is to provide our guests with an authentic Italian experience through our restaurants, cafés, and to-go counters. We offer a wide selection of high-quality Italian, local, and homemade products, as well as classes and product knowledge to enhance our guests' experience.
A Barista at Eataly is responsible for preparing and serving authentic Italian espresso, coffee, and other café drinks at multiple counters. They must provide exceptional service, be knowledgeable about all coffee menu items, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate will have 1+ year of barista experience on a manual espresso machine and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve specialty hot and cold beverages according to Eataly's recipes and guests' special requests.
- Provide exceptional service and product details to guests.
- Set up stations and replenish displays neatly, including separation of allergens.
- Ensure all items are dated and follow First in First Out (FIFO) standards.
- Weigh, grind, or pack coffee beans for guests according to their specifications.
- Operate the Point of Sales (POS) system with accuracy.
- Clean and sanitize work areas according to health agency standards.
- Work across all QSR counters serving pastry, gelato, pizza, and other Italian delicacies.
- Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume.
Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about coffee, tea, and drink preparation.
- Outstanding communication and guest service skills.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow directions.
- 1+ year barista experience on a manual espresso machine preferred.
- High school diploma preferred.
Job Requirements:
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
- Ability to operate equipment such as manual espresso machines, ovens, drink blenders, juicers, and Point of Sales.
- Dexterity for rapid and consistent espresso creation.
- Smart Serve Certification Required.
