Seeking a Clinical Engineer with experience in medical device technology leadership and management to provide strategic and operational support to Shared Health.
Job Description:
Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
The Clinical Engineering Shared Administrative Service provides strategic and operational medical device technology leadership and management. Services include:
- Medical equipment technology planning, ranging from major technological introductions and new construction to yearly patient care equipment upgrades
- Life-cycle management of medical equipment, including business case analysis of competing service support delivery options
- Performance Assurance management of critical medical equipment
- Risk management, including medical device statutes and regulations, electrical safety, and incident investigation
- Medical equipment and general medical device technology education
- Comprehensive technical consultation regarding medical device usage
The ideal candidate will have:
- One year directly related experience in Biomedical/Clinical Engineering
- Familiarity with various computer systems and software packages
- A post-secondary degree in clinical engineering, biomedical engineering or equivalent
- Master's degree in Biomedical/Clinical Engineering or equivalent
The successful candidate will possess:
- Proven leadership capability
- Excellent management skills, including financial, operational and human resource management
- Excellent ability to effectively lead multi-disciplinary teams
- Good abstract thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain a professional manner under a variety of working circumstances
