About the Role

The Logistics/Inventory Coordinator plays a crucial role in the success of Barry Callebaut's Chatham facility. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing the inbound and outbound shipments of raw materials and finished products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and inventory management, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Logistics:
    • Ensure the integrity of shipping schedules and coordinate all activities related to the schedule.
    • Tender and schedule creation of all liquid shipment orders.
    • Coordinate and execute the Shuttle Schedule.
    • Prepare necessary paperwork for delivery notes and certificates of analysis, and resolve any issues that may arise.
    • Act as a liaison between Customer Service, QA, and Corporate Transport on all orders.
    • Receive and resolve inventory-related issues as needed.
    • Provide daily and monthly reporting of all CHEP shipments.
    • Prepare customs documents as they relate to orders.
    • Complete customs paperwork.
    • Resolve any discrepancies related to inbound and outbound appointments.
    • Assign drivers to their destinations and document any carrier issues using the NCR database in SAP.
  • Inventory:
    • Maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials, finished products, and spare parts.
    • Report and explain material usage variances.
    • Perform daily balancing of production process orders.
    • Create technical purchase orders and goods receipts for maintenance and office supplies.
    • Provide training and assistance to operations staff on inventory procedures.
    • Ensure the site meets Barry Callebaut's, supplier, and customer traceability standards.
    • Resolve any order or process-related issues for the site.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for weekend issues related to operations, inventory, and logistics execution.
    • Back up for outside warehouse reconciliation on a monthly basis.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Meet or exceed requirements for food and employee safety.
About You
  • A college diploma or associates degree, or equivalent experience in logistics, is required.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Medium SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.
  • Awareness of manufacturing methods, process improvements, and procedures.
  • Proven math skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented personality, with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • May be required to travel occasionally.
  • SAP knowledge is a must.
  • Ability to move freely around the entire facility.
  • Ability to lift 55lbs.
  • Ability to drive a forklift.
  • Exposure to excessive noise, heat, cold, and dust.
