The Melda Murray Student Centre is a one-stop resource centre for engineering students that aims to enhance student experience on Sexton campus. Reporting to the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Studies, the Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the centre, for implementing programming in the space, and for triaging students to proper supports on and off campus to reduce barriers they may be experiencing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages all day-to-day operational aspects of the Melda Murray Student Centre.
  • Proposes, creates, manages and organizes student programming for the Centre. Identifies existing gaps in services on Sexton campus and develops research-informed programming to address those gaps.
  • Manages the budget and plans spending within budgetary constraints.
  • Holds office hours to provide students with career development, study skills and non-academic assistance.
  • Maintains knowledge of, and working relationships with, University student support services; assesses and refers students to appropriate services.
  • Manages the performance of administrative and student staff of the Centre.

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field with at least three years' experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and work well both in a team environment and with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Experience in developing, delivering and facilitating programming to post-secondary students.
