Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director, Major Projects & Strategic Initiatives, the CMLU Transition Manager will provide management and oversight for the Transition of Canadian SAR Helicopter (CSH) program through the Cormorant Mid Life Update (CMLU). This role will provide the coordination and program management activities for the tasks required for a successful introduction of the CMLU upgraded aircraft into the active Rotary Wing SAR fleet.

What You Will Do:
  • Program Management responsibility for transition tasks
  • Act as the primary point of contact with: the Helicopter OEM, DND, internal CSH departments, and other IMP operating units for all aspects of the CMLU Transition
  • Work closely with the maintenance organization regarding the retirement of the current In-Service airframes
  • Work closely with the material department for the planning and execution of material transition including disposal of surplus inventory
  • Identification and assessment of risks, and development and execution of mitigation activities
  • Coordination with the Cormorant Training Centre and the AMO transition manager for planning and execution of technical training
  • Other duties as assigned
What You Will Bring:
  • Must possess either a university degree in a related subject, or an equivalent combination of experience & education.
  • Experience working in the aerospace industry with a sound knowledge of airworthiness programs.
  • Ability to forecast and manage budgets.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of project management.
  • Experience and/or training with MS Project would be an asset.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC-COntract Security Program.
