Seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to develop and execute innovative procurement strategies, analyze data, and negotiate contracts to deliver sustainable enterprise value.

Senior Procurement Specialist

This role plays a key part in supporting the development, analysis, and execution of procurement strategies that deliver sustainable enterprise value. The Senior Procurement Specialist will analyze data, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance.

Main Responsibilities
  • Interact with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and promote value creation
  • Conduct data analytics during different stages of the sourcing process
  • Develop procurement category strategy and supplier market knowledge
  • Build and manage RFx process, evaluate supplier responses, and prepare business cases
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, including commercial and legal clauses
  • Lead contracts, supplier relationships, and supplier performance
  • Collaborate with Buyers to ensure all rates and agreements are administered in the Purchase to Pay (P2P) process
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policy and address internal requirements
  • Participate and support department-wide projects as required
Requirements Experience
  • Between 4 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
Education/Certification/Designation
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Law, or equivalent

  • Familiarity with the rail & locomotive industry, locomotive technology (HW/SW), and current industry trends and business needs

Technical Skills/Knowledge
  • Extensive knowledge and ability to understand complex contractual Terms and Conditions, Statement of Works (SOW), MOU, LOI types of agreements
  • Extensive knowledge of contractual financial aspects such as NPV, TCO, CPI/PPI, etc.
  • Ability to drive innovative analysis to understand market trends, cost drivers, suppliers, and best practices
  • Strong technical skills related to data tools and presentation of data
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing best practices
  • Knowledge of P2P
  • Knowledge of supplier performance principles
  • Basic knowledge of Incoterms, Customs, and documentation required for delivery within North America and international imports
  • Knowledge of commercial aspects of product and service categories
  • Knowledge of rail transportation or logistic industry
