As a key member of the Procurement and Supply Management team at CN, the Senior Procurement Specialist will play a critical role in driving sustainable enterprise value through innovative procurement strategies. Reporting to the Category Manager, this role will support the development, analysis, and execution of procurement strategies that deliver cost reduction targets and monitor the delivery of key contracts.
Main Responsibilities- Interact with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and promote value creation
- Conduct data analytics during different stages of the sourcing process
- Develop the procurement category strategy and supplier market knowledge as it relates to locomotive parts and services
- Build and manage the RFx process, evaluate supplier responses, and prepare business cases for management approval
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, including commercial and legal clauses
- Lead contracts, supplier relationships, and supplier performance
- Collaborate with Buyers to ensure all rates and agreements are appropriately administered in the Purchase to Pay (P2P) process
- Ensure compliance with procurement policy and address internal requirements
- Participate in department-wide projects as required
This role is located in Montreal, Quebec Headquarters, with a standard working week from Monday to Friday. The position requires travel within North America and abroad.
Requirements- Between 4 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Law, or equivalent
- Negotiation skills, familiarity with the rail & locomotive industry, and knowledge of contract and program management
- Ability to adapt, manage, and perform under pressure with shifting priorities
