Sourcing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Sourcing Specialist to join our supply chain department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading enterprise strategic sourcing strategies for goods and services.

About the Role

  • Lead strategic sourcing and category management initiatives to align company goals, business plans, and internal customer objectives.
  • Develop and execute category strategies for all spend categories within your accountability.
  • Facilitate engagement with cross-functional partners to define business requirements and ensure alignment with category strategy.
  • Conduct market research, spend/cost modeling analysis, and competitive bidding to inform sourcing and negotiation strategies.
  • Perform contract administration and management functions to leverage agreements for effective vendor management and development.
  • Conduct regular vendor reviews to drive strategic cost management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Single point of contact for corporate business departments, working with customers to establish procurement and sourcing requirements.
  • Research suppliers, negotiate and develop contracts and agreements.
  • Connect with various business procurement groups to set up purchasing programs.
  • Identify category opportunities for cost savings, value increase, customer service improvement, operational efficiencies, and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and execute category strategies for all spend categories within your accountability.
  • Facilitate engagement with cross-functional partners to define business requirements and ensure alignment with category strategy.
  • Conduct market research, spend/cost modeling analysis, and competitive bidding to inform sourcing and negotiation strategies.
  • Perform contract administration and management functions to leverage agreements for effective vendor management and development.
  • Conduct regular vendor reviews to drive strategic cost management initiatives.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, Commerce, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years diversified procurement or supply chain management experience and strategic sourcing/category management.
  • 3+ years experience in strategic sourcing/category management.
  • SCMP is preferred.
  • Excellent digital literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with data analytics, market research, cost, demand modeling, procurement planning, strategic sourcing, competitive RFx development and management, contract execution and contract management is preferred.
  • Experience in the following categories and/or industries is beneficial: Corporate Services, IT, Human Resources, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Knowledge and proficiency working with ERP systems like Oracle, SAP.
  • Proficiency in data analytics methodologies and techniques.
  • Excellent business and strategic goal setting, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
